Overview
Cheryl is a veteran government relations professional with almost 30 years of experience representing companies and trade associations in Ohio state politics.
Since August 1999, Cheryl has worked as the Director of Government Relations at the Ohio Telecom Association, a statewide trade association representing 41 telecommunications providers throughout Ohio, along with more than 100 suppliers. In addition to many association management duties, she is responsible for overseeing all telecommunications policy matters represented in the Ohio General Assembly and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
Prior to joining Benesch, Cheryl also served as Director of Communications in the Ohio House of Representatives under House Speaker Jo Ann Davidson, where she served as chief spokesperson for the majority caucus. In 1994, she worked as press secretary for Sen. Mike DeWine’s successful campaign for the U.S. Senate. Cheryl also served as a media relations specialist for majority members of the Ohio Senate from 1992 – 1994.
