Overview

Julie focuses on complex commercial litigation, including defamation, contract disputes, business torts, and corporate governance disputes.

Julie represents clients in a broad range of disputes through all phases of litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, from initial strategy through trial. Her practice further includes complex dispute resolution in various arbitration forums, including the AAA, JAMS, and the HKIAC. In her defamation practice, Julie has represented tech companies, high-profile individuals, and large corporations in all stages of defamation disputes, from sending cease and desist letters and retraction demands to litigating defamation lawsuits. Julie is currently part of the team representing a voting machine company in multiple lawsuits stemming from defamatory statements about the company after the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, including a $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox News.

Julie currently serves on Benesch’s Hiring Committee and sits on the Women’s Initiative Internal Programming subcommittee. Julie also coaches a student moot court team as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
