Overview
Laura has a broad range of experience defending public and private companies in commercial litigation. She has defended corporations in paramount legal matters, including multimillion-dollar class actions, significant business disputes, consumer claims, arbitrations, statutory issues, and litigation threatening company operations.
Laura has secured notable wins and brokered favorable settlements for Fortune 500 and Fortune 200 companies. She regularly briefs and argues motions in both state and federal court, and the outcomes of her matters have had industry-shaping implications. She has successfully prevailed on jury issues at trial.
Laura served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Benita Y. Pearson in the Northern District of Ohio. Since her federal clerkship, she has garnered recognition by the nation’s foremost legal publishers. She is a four-year recipient of both the Ohio Super Lawyer Rising Star Award and Best Lawyers in America Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation Award.

Defended FirstEnergy in a putative class action brought by Schwebel Baking Co. on behalf of itself and similarly situated, large commercial and industrial customers of FirstEnergy. The lawsuit challenged FirstEnergy’s decision to pass through to these customers certain regulatory costs incurred in January 2014, when the “polar vortex” caused temperatures across the region to plummet to historic lows and demand for electricity increased correspondingly.
Defended nationwide putative consumer class actions seeking to hold CVS Pharmacy, Inc. liable for product labeling.
Defended multiple lawsuits alleging violations under federal and state telemarketing laws.
Represented public and private companies in a variety of commercial contract litigation.
Defended Fortune 500 companies in Telephone Consumer Protection Act litigation.
Defended a nationwide putative class action seeking to hold DISH Network, LLC liable under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
