Overview
Lion focuses his practice on construction litigation. He has experience representing owners and developers, contractors, engineers, and other members of the construction industry in complex litigation matters. He represents clients in all phases of litigation for claims involving construction defects, design defects, delays, and breach of contract.
Prior to joining Benesch, Lion was an associate at a highly regarded construction law firm in New York. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Roger Daley in the New Jersey Superior Court, handling incoming motions, assisting in trial work, and preparing decisions and opinions.

Represented an ENR-ranked Midwest specialty contractor in a cross-border dispute over cost overruns and withheld payments on a steel manufacturing plant. The contractor significantly underbid the project due to misleading actions by the owner. Benesch re-baselined the schedule, developed a damage model and used an estoppel argument to secure a favorable settlement in fast-track arbitration.
