Overview
Michael Estreicher is a commercial real estate attorney with more than 20 years of experience advising lenders, investors, owners and developers on sophisticated real estate finance, acquisition, disposition and restructuring transactions. He helps clients structure, negotiate and execute transactions that support their business, investment and capital objectives across a broad range of commercial real estate assets.
Michael regularly counsels clients on the financing, ownership and operation of commercial real estate assets, with experience across a wide variety of property types and financing structures. He represents lenders and borrowers in all types of loan transactions, including construction, mezzanine, bridge, bridge-to-agency, healthcare bridge, balance sheet, CMBS, syndicated and co-lending arrangements. He also advises clients on intercreditor arrangements, note-on-note back leverage facilities and other complex capital structures. He works with clients to structure loans across all asset types, including office buildings, multifamily properties, condominiums, shopping centers, hotels, healthcare facilities, storage facilities and other retail, commercial and mixed-use assets.
Michael represents a diverse group of market participants, including banks, debt funds, large lending institutions and other institutional investors, developers, owners, operators and capital providers involved in sophisticated commercial real estate and financing transactions. He works closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of an investment, from acquisition and financing through disposition, refinancing, restructuring and recapitalization, including workouts of troubled debt, mortgage and mezzanine foreclosures, and deed-in-lieu transactions.
Michael is particularly valued for his ability to coordinate complex transactions involving multiple stakeholders, financing sources and business objectives. He helps clients evaluate strategic alternatives, navigate evolving market conditions and develop practical solutions that support long-term growth and investment goals.
As part of Benesch’s Real Estate Finance & Structured Finance practice, Michael’s experience complements the firm’s capabilities across commercial real estate finance, structured finance, securitization and capital markets matters, enabling clients to access a broader range of financing and investment solutions through a single integrated team.
