As Benesch continues to expand its national commercial litigation practice, the firm announces that another attorney has joined its Chicago office. The firm is pleased to welcome Lee Muench, who joins as of counsel in its Litigation Practice Group.
“Clients increasingly turn to Benesch for representation in the full range of their litigation needs, from commercial disputes to bet-the-company matters. We’re continuing to recruit top tier litigation talent to address that demand,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member. “Adding to our already-deep bench of litigators is a top priority for the firm and we’re pleased to be able to attract such outstanding recruits.”
A skilled and passionate litigator, Muench focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and internal investigations. His substantive experience includes breach of contract, corporate governance litigation, business torts, and securities litigation. Muench has also extensive class action and product liability experience, both as a practicing lawyer and as a former law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Through his practice, Muench has represented a wide range of financial institutions, public companies, closely held corporations and individuals.
Muench is also passionate about providing pro bono legal services to underserved communities. Through collaborations with local legal services providers, Muench has achieved positive results for his pro bono clients in civil and criminal cases. In recognition of his efforts, Muench has received several awards for his pro bono accomplishments, including an Award for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service from the Northern District of Illinois.
Muench graduated summa cum laude from University of Illinois Law School and from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics. He was recognized as “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation and Health Care Law by Best Lawyers in 2021.
