February 14, 2025
Benesch is pleased to welcome Partner Andrew D. Stover to its fast-growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. Andrew is an intellectual property specialist with over 30 years of concentrated experience. He helps innovative companies develop robust patent portfolios and provides extensive counsel in searching and analyzing patents. Andrew’s background as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry equips him with the hands-on knowledge necessary for technically complex patent prosecution matters.
“We’re proud of the strategic growth we’re achieving as a firm, particularly in this critical area. Our dedication to helping clients protect and advance their most valuable assets remains strong in an increasingly complex IP landscape,” said Benesch Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg. “Andrew’s extensive background in preparing and prosecuting patents ensures our clients will benefit tremendously from his skills and experience.”
Andrew excels at developing profitable portfolio strategies from scratch. With strong technical communication skills, he collaborates with product creators and engineers, reviewing the competitive landscape to ensure comprehensive protection for current applications and future opportunities. He advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection, including licensing, patent noninfringement, invalidity opinions, litigation, post-grant review, and inter partes review proceedings.
According to Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Patent 1000, Andrew is recognized for his strategic insights, and he is lauded as a valuable guide and sounding board for patent-related conversations and decisions. Prior to joining Benesch, Andrew was a partner at Crowell. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and his B.S. and M.S. from Washington University in St. Louis.
Nationally recognized by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms,” Benesch’s IP Practice Group has grown by 175% over the past five years and now includes more than 56 attorneys, paralegals, and patent agents.
