Benesch is pleased to announce that Kate Watson Moss, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, has been selected as a 2026 Notable Woman in Law by Crain’s Chicago Business. A seasoned litigator who helps high-profile clients navigate their most complex and sensitive legal challenges, this recognition reflects Kate’s accomplishments, leadership and meaningful contributions to the Chicago legal and business communities.

The annual list honors influential women attorneys across Chicago who demonstrate legal excellence, mentor and support other women in the profession, advance inclusive workplace practices and make a positive impact on their communities. Honorees are selected through a competitive peer nomination and editorial review process.

“Kate exemplifies the qualities this honor represents,” said Litigation Managing Chair Erik Connolly. “She is smart, measured and unwavering in her commitment to her clients. In addition to her strong advocacy, she is generous with her time and invested in mentoring others.”

A trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized businesses and family-owned enterprises, Kate represents clients in high-stakes commercial litigation, including class actions, securities disputes, and corporate internal audits and government investigations. She also focuses on emerging issues in artificial intelligence, digital privacy and online reputation management, and she counsels clients on navigating the evolving regulatory landscape, preserving their digital reputations and addressing AI-related risks and opportunities.

Kate serves as chair of the City of Evanston’s Citizen Police Review Commission, a group founded to promote public confidence in the city’s police department. She is also a member of the Young Professional Board for Cabrini Green Legal Aid. At Benesch, she serves on the firm’s Associate Development Committee and Parent Affinity Group.
