Benesch Partner Kevin Capuzzi Named a 2025 40 Under 40 Honoree by American Bankruptcy Institute
October 16, 2025
Benesch is pleased to congratulate Kevin Capuzzi, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, on being named a 2025 40 Under 40 honoree by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). This recognition celebrates professionals who demonstrate exceptional ability, leadership and impact within the bankruptcy and insolvency community. ABI’s 40 Under 40 honorees are selected by a panel of experienced insolvency professionals for their outstanding accomplishments and service to the industry.
This year’s class joins a distinguished group of more than 200 past honorees. More than 30% have gone on to serve as ABI Leaders, and 80% hold leadership roles within their own firms, each recognized for their professional excellence and community leadership.
“Kevin is my go-to for any insolvency matter. He is loyal, creative and tireless in his advocacy,” said Wilmington Partner-in-Charge Jen Hoover. “Clients value his energy, insight and unwavering dedication, while opposing counsel respect his sharp legal mind and professionalism. Kevin consistently steps up to lead in complex, high stakes matters, and his contributions to both our firm and the broader community reflect the highest standards of excellence. He is incredibly deserving of this recognition.”
“The distinguished leaders within the 2025 class are making meaningful impacts both in their practice and in their communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “As restructuring practice continues to advance, we look forward to this diverse group of honorees propelling ABI and the insolvency community forward.”
Kevin maintains a nationwide practice focused on complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters. For more than 15 years, he has represented a broad range of stakeholders including debtors, trustees, official committees, trade creditors, landlords and lenders in high-stakes proceedings across the country. His notable engagements include representing the debtors in Reverse Mortgage Investment Trust and serving as counsel to the Official Committees of Unsecured Creditors in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hertz and Yellow Corporation bankruptcies. Kevin has also advised clients in nearly every major retail bankruptcy over the past decade. Additionally, Kevin’s work has been recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation and the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges for his excellence in bankruptcy and restructuring.
The 2025 American Bankruptcy Institute 40 Under 40 honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on December 5, 2025, during ABI’s 2025 Winter Leadership Conference in Tucson, Arizona.
