Blubaugh Elected President of the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA)
May 15, 2014
The Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), an independent international association of attorneys, serving the transportation industry since 1937, elected new officers on May 1 at its annual meeting at The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, FL.
Benesch partner, Marc S. Blubaugh assumed the Presidency of the TLA. Mr. Blubaugh is a co-chair of Benesch’s Transportation & Logistics Practice Group. He has litigated a wide variety of transportation and logistics-related cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States as well as before administrative bodies. Among other things, he represents domestic and international carriers of all modes, freight forwarders, transportation brokers, warehousemen, other third-party logistics providers, and commercial shippers in a wide variety of surface, air, and ocean disputes including, but not limited to, high-dollar cargo claims, freight charge and pricing controversies, breaches of transportation, logistics, and warehousing agreements, prosecution of subrogation claims, insurance coverage disputes, trade-secrets and unfair competition litigation, and class action defense. He also defends carriers, third-party logistics providers, and shippers in catastrophic injury actions arising out of the transportation of goods. In addition to litigating matters, Mr. Blubaugh also regularly consults with clients regarding contracting practices and operating procedures, helps clients navigate the changing regulatory landscape, and provides strategic and business advice to help clients not only minimize liability but, just as importantly, to grow their businesses.
TLA attorneys located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe represent both providers and users of transportation and logistics services from all modes of the transportation industry, including air, rail, truck and maritime companies. Further information about TLA can be obtained by visiting its web site at www.translaw.org.
