Overview
Angela serves as lead counsel for intellectual property and commercial litigation matters, including complex trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, and restrictive covenant cases, as well as administrative proceedings involving IP rights. She also advises clients concerning protection and enforcement of IP rights globally, including strategic counseling, clearance, trademark and copyright registration, portfolio management, monitoring and policing, and pre-litigation trademark, copyright, and domain name disputes.
In addition, Angela is an IP subject matter expert for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions (both buyer-side and seller-side), and joint ventures, and assists clients with preparing and negotiating licenses and other commercial agreements involving IP rights in a variety of industries, including software, technology, apparel, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and media.
Angela has served the Cleveland community in the past as a president of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association and a board member of Seeds of Literacy. Angela currently serves on the Advancement Council at The University of Akron School of Law, the primary advisory body to the School of Law, and on the program committee of the Judge John M. Manos American Inn of Court. Nationally, Angela serves on the North America Roundtables Project Team of the International Trademark Association.
Angela has served as an Adjunct Law Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she has taught Trademark Law, and as an Adjunct Instructor at The University of Akron School of Law, where she has taught Legal Writing.
Angela earned her B.S. cum laude from Monmouth University and her J.D. magna cum laude from The University of Akron School of Law. She is a ranked lawyer in Chambers USA. She was named the 2023 and 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation – IP, Cleveland, and the 2022 Lawyer of the Year for Trademark Law, Cleveland, by The Best Lawyers in America.
