Overview
Kate is a partner in Benesch’s restructuring and bankruptcy department where she finds joy in helping her clients identify and execute on creative solutions to business disputes. Collaboration with her client teams and Benesch team is her favorite part of practice. Kate focuses her practice on commercial litigation across industries in Delaware’s state and federal courts as well as in courts throughout various other jurisdictions. Kate also has experience in bankruptcy litigation, corporate litigation, corporate governance, entity formation, non-profit representation, insurance coverage disputes, and intellectual property matters.
Kate is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and she strives to advance these principles in all areas of her life, both personally and professionally. Kate recently served as President of the Delaware State Bar Association’s Executive Committee and previously completed a two-year term as Co-Chair of the DSBA’s Women and the Law section. Kate enjoys serving on the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and previously served on the firm’s First in Service Committee and as Vice-Chair of the firm’s Associate Development Committee. She relishes serving as a mentor to many young Delaware attorneys and proudly provides pro bono services as a Child Attorney through the Delaware Office of the Child Advocate.
Kate received her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, her Masters in Social Services and Masters in Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Delaware. A proud Delawarean born and raised, Kate lives outside of Wilmington with her two children.

Represented e2 Companies in high-profile Delaware Chancery Court litigation involving a contested deSPAC transaction with Nabors Energy Transition Corp. II. Benesch secured a favorable settlement including a cash payment and termination of the merger agreement, allowing e2 to exit the transaction and remain privately held—a rare outcome in “busted M&A” disputes.
