Overview
Randy Eckers is a commercial real estate finance attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing lenders, debt funds, investors and other capital providers in sophisticated financing transactions across the commercial real estate market. He advises clients throughout the financing lifecycle, from loan origination and acquisition financing to structured finance, secondary market transactions and capital markets execution.
Randy represents a broad range of market participants, including large lending institutions, private equity funds, debt funds, banks, bond investors, C-PACE lenders and administrators, A-noteholders, B-noteholders, loan participants, administrative agents and property owners. He is known for helping clients structure, negotiate and execute complex financing transactions while navigating evolving market conditions and capital structures.
Randy’s practice encompasses a wide range of commercial real estate finance matters, including CMBS, portfolio, bridge, bridge-to-agency, syndicated, mezzanine, construction, single-family rental development and USDA loans, as well as preferred equity investments and credit facilities. Randy regularly advises clients on transactions involving hospitality, retail, healthcare, office, multifamily, single-family rental, mixed-use and specialty asset classes.
Randy is particularly known for his experience in secondary market and structured finance transactions. He regularly advises clients on the purchase, sale and workout of commercial real estate loans, and he has extensive experience negotiating intercreditor agreements, co-lender arrangements, co-origination agreements, participation agreements, and other structures involving multiple capital sources and stakeholders.
Randy also counsels clients on the creation and implementation of programmatic lending platforms and loan acquisition structures, helping lenders, debt funds and investors develop scalable financing strategies that support long-term growth and capital deployment objectives.
A recognized leader in Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing, Randy advises lenders, administrators and other market participants on financing structures that create additional flexibility and capital solutions for commercial real estate projects. His experience also includes representing bond investors in the acquisition and disposition of GNMA and FNMA securities, including table-funded FHA loan transactions, as well as serving as agency counsel in merger and acquisition transactions involving HUD, GNMA, FNMA and Freddie Mac lenders and issuers.
