Benesch Adds Of Counsel, Associate to Chicago Office

As Benesch continues to grow nationwide, the firm has announced the hiring of a pair of attorneys in its Chicago office.

The firm is pleased to announce the additions of associate Jason W. Griffith and Of Counsel Matthew J. Langley to its Chicago office. Griffith joins the firm’s Private Equity and Corporate & Securities Practice Groups, while Langley joins the firm’s Litigation Practice.

“Across a range of industries, our clients face a complex environment for managing their corporate transactions and navigating commercial litigation, so building our capacity to deliver quality work for them in these areas is a key priority,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member. “Matthew and Jason are outstanding additions to our team.”

Griffith has experience representing companies and private equity funds in connection with a variety of matters, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, minority investments and other day-to-day general corporate matters.

He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, and summa cum laude the University of Colorado.

Langley is an experienced trial lawyer with a strong track record who focuses his practice on class actions, affirmative recovery and other complex civil litigation.

He graduated from Columbia University School of Law, and from the University of Connecticut.

The announcement of the hiring of Griffith and Langley follows Benesch’s move to a new location in Chicago. The office, at 71 S. Wacker Dr., includes 64,000 square-feet of space, and is ready to house approximately 90 attorneys. The firm’s former space, located at 333 W. Wacker, contained 25,000 square feet of space, accommodating 50 attorneys.

Overall, Griffith and Langley are joining Benesch’s Chicago office during a time of significant growth for the firm. More than 70 attorneys have joined the firm in the last 18 months. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 19 places and is currently ranked at number 176.
