Overview

Dave Hudson is a partner in Benesch’s New York office and a seasoned real estate private equity transactional lawyer with more than a decade of experience advising private equity funds, family offices and developers on their most complex and consequential deals.

Dave’s practice focuses on joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations and preferred equity structures across all asset classes in major U.S. markets. He represents clients on both sides of the table, operating sponsors and capital partners alike, bringing a perspective to every negotiation that reflects a genuine understanding of how deals work, not just how documents read.

Clients describe Dave as pragmatic, commercially minded and focused on outcomes. He operates as a business counselor as much as a legal technician, identifying the issues that actually matter, cutting through the ones that don’t, and keeping transactions moving toward closing. His deals typically range from $20 million to $250 million, and his clients range from emerging private equity sponsors to established institutional capital partners deploying capital across primary and secondary markets nationwide.

Before joining Benesch, Dave was an attorney at King & Spalding and Kirkland & Ellis.
