Overview
Lauryn’s practice covers general commercial litigation, consumer class actions, and transportation and logistics-related claims.
Clients value Lauryn’s efficiency and her ability to anticipate their needs and save them valuable time. She has been described as “well-organized, thoughtful, and persuasive.”
Lauryn has experience handling a variety of complex commercial litigation in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration proceedings. She navigates all stages of litigation, including drafting motions, managing discovery projects of various scales, representing clients at hearings and mediations, and assisting with trial. Lauryn also has experience taking and defending fact and expert witness depositions and has contributed to several pro bono projects.
Lauryn regularly defends retail & e-commerce clients against class actions alleging unfair or deceptive business practices. She is also skilled at providing practical advice regarding novel retail and e-commerce issues, both for the purposes of litigation and risk-mitigation.
Additionally, as a member of the Transportation & Logistics group, Lauryn represents carriers, transportation brokers, and third-party logistics providers in a wide variety of contractual disputes.
Lauryn currently serves on Benesch’s Hiring Committee and Associate Development Committee. While in law school, she served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Melody Stewart of the Supreme Court of Ohio. Lauryn also served as the Vice Chairperson of the CSU Law Moot Court Team, as well as an executive board member for the CSU Law Chapter of the Black Law Students’ Association.

Representing multiple e-commerce companies in filed or threatened lawsuits alleging violations of the Washington Commercial Electronic Mail Act (CEMA) and other state consumer protection laws.
Assisting with the negotiation of favorable pre-answer settlements for retailers regarding claims brought under the federal Wiretap Act and California’s Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) concerning the alleged recording of chat conversations, use of session replay technology, and use of the Facebook Pixel.
Acting as outside counsel for several household names, which routinely involves reviewing and revising pricing and warranty policies; advising on online and in-store marketing campaigns; and advising on changes to return policies.
Defended various motor carriers in nationwide putative class action allegation violations of federal and state labor laws.
Representing freight logistics and brokerage companies in various breach of contract actions against shipping customers and motor carriers.
Obtained a Temporary Restraining Order in Nassau County Supreme Court for a home healthcare provider, preventing the New York State Department of Health from enforcing an expulsion sanction and ensuring continuity of care for thousands of patients.
