Overview
With more than 20 years of progressive Human Resources experience, Liz Gillmore is an innovative and dynamic leader, currently serving as Benesch’s Chief Human Resources Officer. In this position, which she has held since 2018, Liz oversees all facets of Human Resources, including HR operations, staff recruitment, benefits, internal communications and administrative practice support. Her extensive expertise has been a critical asset to Benesch’s growth and long-term success strategy.
Liz has been instrumental in advancing initiatives surrounding Benesch’s employee value proposition. Under her leadership, Benesch has adopted industry-leading policies reflective of her commitment to fostering a workplace culture of engagement, respect and appreciation. Liz’s strategic vision to establish a people-centric environment that attracts and retains top talent has contributed to the firm earning numerous top workplace awards in local markets, as well as a two-time national award recipient of the Newsweek Top 100 Most Loved Workplace award.
As an authentic and trusted communicator, Liz is a strong proponent of transparent and open communication within the firm, continuously looking for ways to create meaningful connections, inspire engagement and promote a supportive workplace. This approach has positively impacted Benesch’s culture, ensuring team members feel valued, appreciated and empowered.
Beyond her professional role, Liz has been an active board member with Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) since 2018 and currently serves as Board Chair. In this position, Liz helps guide initiatives focused on creating pathways for individuals with disabilities to engage in the community, achieve greater independence, and attain employment.
Prior to joining Benesch, Liz spent a significant portion of her career at The Sherwin-Williams Company, holding multiple roles of increasing responsibility. Throughout her time with Sherwin-Williams, she led transformative projects that included overseeing various activities surrounding mergers and acquisitions, global integration, organizational design, strategic planning, communication, policy alignment and change management.
